Set within the peaceful village of Beckley, Sandy Warren is a bespoke three-bedroom new build, designed and constructed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings. This 2,200 sq ft residence is defined by its restrained material palette, strong architectural form, and carefully curated interior finishes.
Designed in Collaboration with Anderson Orr
Working closely with Anderson Orr Architects, we developed a contemporary home rooted in its landscape. The architectural concept focused on clean, modern lines paired with a soft, natural palette to deliver a timeless aesthetic.
The exterior is formed from reclaimed-look bricks and natural timber cladding. These materials were selected to mature gracefully within the wooded context of the site. Full-height windows connect the open-plan interior to the garden, allowing natural light to animate the living spaces throughout the day.
Bespoke Interior Specification
Internally, the house features a carefully considered material and lighting scheme. A Bulthaup kitchen sits at the heart of the home, surrounded by high-performance finishes including Minoli tiling and bespoke joinery. The bathrooms are equally refined, combining elegant fittings with contemporary detailing, most notably a sculptural, freestanding bathtub positioned to create a moment of calm luxury.
A detached outbuilding was designed as a dedicated workspace, providing a quiet retreat for focused work, while maintaining architectural cohesion with the main house. Clad in the same natural materials, this structure extends the usability of the plot and enhances the overall composition of the site.
Landscape and Sustainability
Landscaping formed an integral part of the project, softening the transition between built and natural elements. The garden was designed for year-round use and enjoyment, with considered planting and structured outdoor space.
Environmental performance was prioritised through the integration of an air source heat pump and underfloor heating solutions that provide both comfort and sustainability, aligned with our broader environmental ethos.
